Kenya hosted the first global conference on Sustainable Blue Economy from November 26-28, 2018 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre.

UoN committed to establishing an institute for blue economy and ocean studies, besides training 5000 graduate seafarers in partnership with Global Shipping Lines (Kenya). Further UoN received Ksh 14million from the Ministry of Education to support the academic and research forums hosted at UoN
