The Teki -University of Nairobi Partnership
Teki and the University of Nairobi joined forces in 2024, they shared a simple belief: a university degree should come with skills the job market actually needs. Two years later, that belief has transformed thousands of student lives.
Through events like International Creator Day and the Tech Women Festival, the partnership has engaged over 6,000 students, bringing them face-to-face with 47 brands and 59 industry experts from companies like Safaricom, Meta, and Brighter Monday. But the real impact lies in the skills gained.
In 2025 alone, 769 students completed intensive up skilling programs. The Digital Marketing Associate Program trained 464 students in everything from SEO to AI marketing. The Creator Pro Course equipped 87 students with the tools to master TikTok, YouTube, and the broader creator economy. A dedicated Digital Entrepreneurship course guided 11 young women through building business models and pitch decks, while the Spark Mentorship Program paired 29 female students with industry mentors for six weeks of hands-on guidance.
In December 2025, 290 graduates walked across the stage at the Manu Chandaria Auditorium 70% of them UoN students celebrated by 11 speakers and 19 corporate partners. Among them was Tamara Kertich, a UoN student recognized as the Top Girl in Tech 2025 for her innovation.
The partnership is now aiming to skill 10,000 students, establish a permanent Creator Hub on campus, and develop programs for university staff. The foundation has been laid, and the next chapter has already begun.
