Bilateral collaborations with the Indian Government

  1. Grant of USD 1 million for renovation on the Mahatma Gandhi Graduate Library;
  2. The setting up of an Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Chair for Indian Studies at the University of Nairobi.

Following the signing of an MoU between the University of Nairobi and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) on March 16, 2015 for the Establishment of an ICCR Chair of Indian Studies at the University of Nairobi, the Indian High Commission in Kenya submitted four CVs to the School of Economics for consideration for the ICCR Chair.

Dr.  Seepana Prakasam was recommended to be the ICCR Chair for two semesters with effect from September 1, 2016 to April 30 2017 (8 Months).
