Erasmus+ student and staff mobility program

The University of Nairobi and the International Office of the Philosophical Faculty, University of Hradec Králové (UHK) had a staff week program focused on Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility cooperation held from Monday, May 2023, in the Czech Republic. The main motivations for the staff week were to reinforce the cooperation with partner institutions and to gain practical skills relevant to Erasmus+ student mobilities and Erasmus+ staff mobilities IN, OUT, good practice, and visa applications. The added value was benchmarking for best practices, strengthened collaborations, and building networks

 

Speaking during the staff week, Dr. Stephanie Inge Rudwick, the Vice-Dean for International Affairs said, “The University of Hradec Králové (UHK) seeks to maintain partnerships with all their partner universities and to make sure that they avoid semesters where there will be no international students, hence promoting internationalization.” 

 

The philosophical faculty members also emphasized taking advantage of the experience of former participants of mobilities, to interconnect the newly nominated students/staff with the former mobility students/staff not only in case of problems with cultural/psychological preparation for students/staff done by the home university. 

In addition, UHK presented their Erasmus+ new priorities where they emphasized their sustainable UHK strategy. “ We emphasize on effective use of the university buildings and equipment by assessing, monitoring, and issuing suggestions for improving UHK activities concerning sustainable development.‘‘ said Mr. Tomáš Herčík, International Coordinator, University of Hradec Králové

Ms. Kadzo Mwandary had the opportunity to meet two University of Nairobi students who are currently in UHK for the Erasmus+ students’ mobility program, Mr. Mark Amuko and Mr. Davis Osino, where they shared their experiences in the Czech Republic

The visit also included a tour of Hradec Králové town and a trip to Hrádek u Nechanic castle 

Also in attendance was Ms. Aune Sam, from the University of Namibia, Mr. Tomáš Herčík, Ms. Vera Kourimova, and Ms. Martina Eliášová from the International Office, University of Hradec Králové (Philosophical Faculty). The Activities carried out included workshops, seminars, presentations meetings, and individual consultations
