The Directorate of corporate affairs wins big

The Directorate of Corporate Affairs scooped two awards at the University of Nairobi’s 17th cycle of performance contracting and staff recognition awards event held on March 23, 2022, at Taifa Hall.

The Directorate scooped the second-best central performing unit after the internal Audit directorate who took first place, with the information and communication technology directorate taking the third position. Under the vice-chancellor’s excellence awards the directorate was awarded for its continued efforts to exhibit the university’s core values of trust and freedom of thought and expression through communication and promotion of the university’s position.

Speaking during the event, the chief operations officer, Mr. Brian Ouma congratulated all those who had received rewards. He further urged all those not in the roll of winners to raise their game and ensure that they are awarded during the coming year’s staff recognition awards. He however assured all the staff that the awards are never a zero-sum game where some have to lose for others to win “As this is not a zero-sum game where some must lose for others to win, nothing is easier to say than, we are all winners’’ remarked the coo.

 Vice-chancellor, Prof Stephen Kiama, who was the chief guest during the event appreciated the efforts of all UoN’s staff both the top and lower cadres, he emphasized that the staff’s combined efforts have continued to ensure the university’s success and urged them to sustain their efforts and continuously maintain good results.
