University of Nairobi Staff, Partners Collaborate in Annual Tree Growing Initiative at Upper Kabete

In a strong show of the link between environmental conservation and academic duty, staff from the University of Nairobi partnered with national stakeholders during the institution’s Annual Tree Planting and Growing Initiative held on Thursday, April 2, at the Upper Kabete Campus.

Outstanding Students Recognized and Awarded

In a first of its kind, the University of Nairobi held a students’ Recognition Award Ceremony to celebrate the outstanding students in various categories on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the iconic Taifa Hall.

What made this edition of Recognition Awards special was the honour of not only outstanding academic performance but also Talent, Research and Publication, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Corporate Social Responsibility, Leadership, Volunteerism, Extra-curricular activities and Sports and Games.

Launch of TAIFA-1 Satellite

The University of Nairobi hosted the launch panel discussion of Taifa-1, a nanosatellite that was developed by the Kenya Space Agency. The panel discussion was attended by students, engineers, and experts in the field. The launch marks a significant milestone in Kenya's efforts to explore space science and technology for socioeconomic development.
