The University of Nairobi held its Staff Recognition Awards and Performance Contract Signing Ceremony On Thursday, 26th Feb 2026, at the historic Taifa Hall. The annual ceremony recognizes outstanding performance, innovation, and service delivery across the University’s ten faculties.
In a first of its kind, the University of Nairobi held a students’ Recognition Award Ceremony to celebrate the outstanding students in various categories on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the iconic Taifa Hall.
What made this edition of Recognition Awards special was the honour of not only outstanding academic performance but also Talent, Research and Publication, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Corporate Social Responsibility, Leadership, Volunteerism, Extra-curricular activities and Sports and Games.
The University of Nairobi hosted the launch panel discussion of Taifa-1, a nanosatellite that was developed by the Kenya Space Agency. The panel discussion was attended by students, engineers, and experts in the field. The launch marks a significant milestone in Kenya's efforts to explore space science and technology for socioeconomic development.
