Pomp and Colour mark UoN International students day celebrations

The University held its annual international students day at the iconic Taifa Hall on the 25th of November 2022 under the theme “appreciating the diversity of our cultures”. Every year, the university sets a day to celebrate international students who make up to 1428 of the total student population.

The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama, DVC Academic Affairs Prof. Julius Ogeng’o, AVC RIE Prof. Margeret Hutchinson, Senate, Dean of Students Mr. Johnson Kinyua and UNSA leadership.

41 International Students –Windle Trust Beneficiaries go through Orientation

The University, through the office of the Dean of Students held an International Students orientation day. The session was attended by Windle Trust International Kenya, who are the main sponsors of students from refugee camps. 41 International students were taken through what the UoN has to offer and what’s expected of them by the various departments.  

UON BLOOD DRIVE

On 14th and 15th of October 2022, The Rotaract club of the University of Nairobi in partnership with university of Nairobi, Kenya National Transfusion Service and Equity Afia, held a UON blood drive at the university of Nairobi graduation square.

8 UoN students head to Japan on an Exchange Programme

Seven students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and one student from the Faculty of Arts have been nominated to go to Japan on an exchange programme. The seven students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine will spend two weeks at Yamaguchi University under the Inter-university exchange programme between Kenya and Japan.

What is the New Erasmus Mundus Action 2021-2027?

The new Erasmus Mundus action comprises Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) and Erasmus Mundus Design Measures (EMDM). They are autonomous funding schemes with independent calls for proposals. EMJMs support the implementation of existing joint master programmes whereas EMDMs support the design of new joint master programmes.

UoN partners with West Ukrainian National University

The UoN and the West Ukrainian National University entered into a collaborative agreement to foster the development of a broader exchange of knowledge, skills and experience in all aspects of the curriculum and support services including administration and management structures. The partnership was necessitated by the need to combine scientific efforts to train highly qualified specialists who will be instrumental in building the respective countries’ future.

Tree Planting and Growing Day 2022

The Department of Corporate Affairs joined The University community and its partners as they gathered and planted 7000 tree seedlings on Friday, May 13, 2022, on the Annual Tree Planting and Growing Day.

Equity Group Foundation,County Government, National Government,  Shamba Café, Loresho Community and Association of Green champions joined the university to plant and grow trees.

Nairobi Innovation Week 2022

The University of Nairobi will host the Nairobi Innovation Week 2022 from 26th April to 28th April 2022. The NIW 2022 will feature an Innovation Summit with a series of keynote addresses and invited speakers to lead the discussion on the State of the Innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Kenya.
