UoN Launches Disability Mainstreaming Strategy to Foster Inclusivity

The University of Nairobi launched the Disability Mainstreaming Strategy on the International Day of People with Disability celebrations, on 4th December, 2023. This strategy aims to promote an enabling environment for effective and efficient service delivery to Persons with Disabilities in the University Community.

Outstanding Students Recognized and Awarded

In a first of its kind, the University of Nairobi held a students’ Recognition Award Ceremony to celebrate the outstanding students in various categories on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the iconic Taifa Hall.

What made this edition of Recognition Awards special was the honour of not only outstanding academic performance but also Talent, Research and Publication, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Corporate Social Responsibility, Leadership, Volunteerism, Extra-curricular activities and Sports and Games.

Launch of TAIFA-1 Satellite

The University of Nairobi hosted the launch panel discussion of Taifa-1, a nanosatellite that was developed by the Kenya Space Agency. The panel discussion was attended by students, engineers, and experts in the field. The launch marks a significant milestone in Kenya's efforts to explore space science and technology for socioeconomic development.

EMBRACING E-LEARNING IN KENYAN UNIVERSITIES


The University of Nairobi has partnered with the Open University in the UK, to host a two day hybrid workshop on the Skills for Prosperity. Over 30 Kenyan universities were invited  including ; Kenyatta University, Maseno University, Kibabii University, Multi Media university ,Chuka University, Technical University of Mombasa, South East Kenya university,Masaai Mara University ,Kisii university.

Pomp and Colour mark UoN International students day celebrations

The University held its annual international students day at the iconic Taifa Hall on the 25th of November 2022 under the theme “appreciating the diversity of our cultures”. Every year, the university sets a day to celebrate international students who make up to 1428 of the total student population.

The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama, DVC Academic Affairs Prof. Julius Ogeng’o, AVC RIE Prof. Margeret Hutchinson, Senate, Dean of Students Mr. Johnson Kinyua and UNSA leadership.
